Terms & Privacy
Terms of Service Last updated 2026-07-02
1. Acceptance of these terms
Hexium is a mod database and distribution platform operated at hexium.gg ("Hexium", "we", "us"). By using the website, its API, or the Hexium Discord application (together, the "Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum digital-consent age in your country, if higher) to use the Service.
2. What the service is
Hexium hosts game modifications ("mods") created and uploaded by their authors, together with metadata such as descriptions, tags, version history, download counts, star ratings, and author rank badges. Mods are third-party content: they are made by their authors, not by Hexium, and installing them is at your own discretion and risk.
3. Accounts
- Sign-in is provided through Discord. You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your Discord credentials secure.
- Account names must not impersonate other people, mod authors, or Hexium staff.
- You can disconnect the Service's access to your Discord account at any time from Discord's Authorized Apps settings; see the Privacy Policy below for what happens to your data.
4. Content you upload
You keep ownership of everything you upload. By uploading a mod or posting content (descriptions, images, comments, ratings), you grant Hexium a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and distribute that content for the purpose of operating and promoting the Service — including displaying it in the Hexium Discord app and in feeds delivered to Discord servers.
You represent that you have the rights to everything you upload, including any third-party assets bundled in your mod. Uploads must not contain malware, miners, obfuscated payloads, or code that collects user data without disclosure.
We may review, reject, or remove any upload at our discretion, including for security, legal, or quality reasons. Where practical we will state a reason.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- upload or link to malware, pirated game content, or content you don't have rights to distribute;
- manipulate ratings, downloads, or ranks (vote rings, bots, sockpuppets);
- scrape or bulk-download in ways that degrade the Service — use the public API within its rate limits instead;
- harass other users, or post unlawful, hateful, or sexually explicit content;
- attempt to bypass security, moderation, or access controls.
6. The Hexium Discord app
The Hexium Discord application provides search, mod-release feeds, subscriptions, and account-linked features inside Discord. By adding it to a server or using its commands you also agree to Discord's own Terms of Service.
- Server administrators control which channels the app can post in and which members can use its commands.
- Feed content mirrors public Hexium listings; the app does not read your messages.
- We may rate-limit, suspend, or remove the app from servers that abuse it.
7. Takedowns & DMCA
If you believe content on Hexium infringes your copyright, send a takedown notice to legal@hexium.gg including: identification of the work, the URL of the allegedly infringing content, your contact details, a good-faith statement, and your physical or electronic signature. We will remove or disable access to content in response to valid notices and may terminate repeat infringers' accounts. Counter-notices may be sent to the same address.
8. Our content
The Hexium name, logo, rank badges, site design, and software are ours or our licensors'. These Terms don't grant you rights to them beyond normal use of the Service. Game names and trademarks (e.g. Valheim) belong to their respective owners; Hexium is not affiliated with or endorsed by them.
9. Termination
You can stop using the Service or delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts, remove content, or block access for breach of these Terms, legal requirements, or risk to the Service or its users. Sections 4, 7, 8, 10, and 11 survive termination.
10. Disclaimers
The Service and all mods are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Mods can break games, corrupt saves, or conflict with each other; back up your data.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hexium and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of data, saves, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service or any mod obtained through it. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the past 12 months (currently zero — Hexium is free) or USD $50. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. Material changes will be announced on the site and in our Discord server before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.

Privacy Policy Last updated 2026-07-02
1. Summary
Hexium collects the minimum needed to run a mod database: your Discord sign-in identity, what you upload, and basic operational logs. The Hexium Discord app stores extra data only when you use its features — and never reads your messages. We don't sell data or run third-party advertising.
2. Data we collect on the website
| Data | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Discord account identity: your Discord user ID, username, and avatar, received via "Login with Discord" (Discord OAuth). We do not receive your Discord password. | Sign-in | Creating and operating your Hexium account |
| Uploads and profile content: mods, descriptions, icons, tags, versions | When you publish | The core service — public by design |
| Ratings and comments | When you post them | Public mod feedback; tied to your username |
| Download counts | On download | Aggregate statistics; not tied to your identity in public displays |
| IP address, user agent, request logs | Automatic | Security, rate limiting, abuse and fraud prevention, debugging |
| Session cookie | On login | Keeping you signed in. Essential cookies only — no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies |
3. Data the Discord app collects
The Hexium Discord application ("the app") operates on slash commands and public mod data. It does not request the message-content privilege and cannot read conversations in your server.
| Data | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Your Discord user ID and username | When you run a command | Responding to you; command rate limiting |
| Association between your Discord ID and your Hexium account | Because sign-in is via Discord, this association exists for every Hexium account | Rank-role sync in our server; author notifications you opt into |
| Subscription preferences (authors/tags you follow) | Only if you use /subscribe | Sending the release notifications you asked for |
| Server (guild) ID, configured feed channel ID, and filters | Only if a server admin runs /config | Posting mod feeds where the admin chose |
The app receives standard interaction metadata from Discord (such as the server and channel a command was used in) as part of how Discord delivers commands; we do not store this beyond operational logs.
4. How we use data
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service;
- to secure it: rate limiting, anti-abuse, malware screening of uploads;
- to send notifications you opted into (Discord DMs, release feeds);
- to comply with legal obligations, including DMCA processing.
We do not sell personal data, use it for third-party advertising, or profile you beyond the public statistics visible on the site (downloads, ratings, ranks).
5. Sharing
- Public by design: your username, rank, mods, ratings you post, and mod statistics are public — on the site, through the API, and in Discord feeds.
- Infrastructure providers: we use hosting providers to run the Service; they process data on our behalf under their own security terms.
- Discord: sign-in and app interactions flow through Discord's platform under Discord's Privacy Policy.
- Legal: we may disclose data if required by law or to protect the Service and its users.
That's the whole list. No data brokers, no ad networks.
6. Retention & deletion
- Account data is kept while your account exists. Delete your account and we remove your personal data; published mods may remain available unless you also remove them, since other users' setups depend on them.
- Discord access: you can revoke Hexium's OAuth access at any time in Discord → User Settings → Authorized Apps. This prevents future sign-ins; to delete your Hexium data as well, delete your account or contact us.
- Subscriptions: removed immediately when you unsubscribe.
- Server configs: deleted when the app is removed from a server or an admin clears them.
- Operational logs (IPs, request logs) are retained up to 90 days, then deleted or anonymized.
7. Security
Sign-in is delegated to Discord (we never see or store passwords), transport is encrypted (HTTPS), access to production data is restricted, and inbound integration events are authenticated. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your personal data we will notify affected users without undue delay.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR and similar laws), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise most of these directly: edit your profile, delete your uploads, revoke Discord access, or delete your account. For anything else, email privacy@hexium.gg and we'll respond within 30 days. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
9. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 13 (or the higher minimum digital-consent age in your country), and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We'll update this policy as the Service evolves. Material changes are announced on the site and in our Discord server before they take effect, with the "last updated" date above revised accordingly.
